Coronation of King NOMTOC LI

""NOMTOC’s Passport to Happiness " was the theme of the bal masque presented by the Jugs Social Club's Krewe of NOMTOC -- "New Orleans' Most Talked of Club" -- Saturday in the La Nouvelle Orleans Ballroom of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

Reigning as Queen NOMTOC LI was Miss Laurette Marie Compass, daughter of Mr. Edwin Compass, III and Mrs. Arlene Lombard Compass, granddaughter of King NOMTOC I. The Queen greeted her subjects wearing a sleeveless v-neck grey lace encrusted trumpet shaped gown with rhinestone appliques, silver bugle beads and swaroski crystals in peridot green. The queen’s collar has a silhouette of the crescent city with accent fans of peridot green and white plumes. Her mantle has a replica of the crescent city bridge. Her crown and scepter was designed and crafted by Eleecouture Boutique of Orange County, California.

His Majesty the King, Mr. John Arthur Brunet, Jr., wore a tunic of white peu di soir with puffed sleeves encrusted with sparkling silver crystal rhinestone appliques, heavily beaded motif Diamante lace and banding. His rhinestone belt consisted of repurposed rhinestones in honor of his late father, John A. Brunet Sr. NOMTOC X 1979’s costume.

His collar depicts the historical Brunet family crest’s knight and armor, dual New Orleans Police Department crests and star; and black and white racing checkered pennants with accents of peridot green feathers and white ostrich plumes and peridot green swarovski crystal stones.

The matching mantle is lined with white fur and a logo of the Jugs Social Club's walking Jugman. His royal crown & scepter was also designed and crafted by Eleecouture Boutique.
